Interactive Hill Country Plant Database

There are many plant databases out there, what makes this one different is that it is interactive or sortable.

Nine years ago I was trying to lay out a wildflower garden.  I spent months with paper and pencil listing colors, heights, bloom time and growing requirements.  I was also trying to figure out how to attract birds and butterflies (and NOT attract the deer).

I kept wishing that there was an easier way to do the sorting.  The result of that wishing and alot of hard work is this database.

The database is available in Open Office and Excel.  Open Office is a free, downloadable office suite which is compatable with other major office software.
You may download it here

If you don't have an program for spreadsheets, word processing, graphics and presentations, Open Office is highly recommended.

The Open Office database is a zip file which must be saved to your computer.
Instructions for opening and using the file can be printed, click here.

If you don't have a pdf reader you can download the free Adobe Reader here.
